We started well 2011, now time to review first quarter results and by this exercise is also time to disclose some interesting statistics about discount hotels bookings with my preferred hotel booking website.

So let's have a look at the most booked hotel, on my preferred booking website of course - these are not general statistics, and we immediately find out that we have three top hotels which totalized the same quntity of reservations, I will then mention all of them:

Americas Best Value Inn for discount hotels in San Carlos CA.

Radisson Hotel Orlando International Drive for discount hotels in Orlando FL.

Super 8 Daytona Beach Spdwy for discount hotels in Daytona Beach FL.

I am quite happy to know about the three hotels and I am looking forward to knowing what will happen in quarter 2 2011!

I know for a fact that I can always find a better price, I fail doing so when I stop thinking that: it is more effort to work to gain my money than to work to save it!

These cover most of the discount rates available, we would check two or three of them before booking a hotel in NYC so that we do not spend to much time on booking but we are also confident that we are dealing with the best rates available.
Our path to cheap hotels in New York NY is to work on different arrival and departure dates, with the target to co-ordinate the best flight prices with the best hotel rates, running several searches and finding out, by trial and refining, the best overall price for the trip.
Price is not all of course as we will have to have clear in our mind, or clear it while searching, which is the best area of New York as a base for our visit. This should allow us to walk to the major attractions or to easily use the public transport.

It is a difficult time for the travel industry and all operators are waiting to see improvements to the financial markets, the real economy and subsequently some confidence in the consumers spending attitude. Hotels and flights bookings are down about 15%, according to some major air and hotel companies. No disaggregate information is easily available from the same companies for luxury hotels and first class flights bookings. We can only assume that the luxury market has not been affected as greatly as the budget travel market. Nevertheless travellers should be looking for more deals on luxury hotels in New York City and the feeling is that some dream stay is possible at a price never seen in past years. So if you are not suffering too much from the impending financial condition you should probably take your chance for a luxury stay in New York City!

Yeah.. they are great and complex online reservation systems, and you can select so many parameters to meet your travel expectations or needs, but what if you just want to have a look to a list of bookable hotels in your chosen destination, say in Orlando, before spending too much time filling in complicated hotel availability search forms?

...."well we are sorry but we don't support that feature" could be the answer from those leading travel suppliers!

Have you ever tried to find hotel contact information for a locality you have no access to telephone directories or similar guides?
It's not easy we know, unless you already know the hotel name, or in any case are lucky enough, so that you can easily find the hotel website with a Google search (...Yahoo, MSN or your preferred search engine).
Here is a hotel directory which makes things easier. At HotelBeam.com you can just browse by region to find the hotels listed for each town. Each hotel is featured with at least address and official website and, if provided by the hotel, with email address, telephone, fax.
Indeed this directory needs to be well populated before you can say it is of great help to find hotels info in a certain location but the path is set and the hotel directory is growing (...dear hotel owner please add your hotel if you whish to be part of this!).
